System overview
The SmartReha system:
- The SmartReha system was designed for application in cardiodiologic rehabilitation, which follows in-patient treatment at a hospital (rehab phase II). Systematic ergometer training has been proven to positively affect patients subjective state of health as well as the blood circulation of the coronary vessels. Which method of training will provide the optimum success depends on the clinical condition of the patient and the preferred approach of the attending physician.
SmartReha is user-friendly:
- SmartReha is easy to install and intuitive to use, yet highly configurable. A variety of different training options (load or pulse controlled) are at the doctor’s or therapist’s disposal, so they are able to precisely adjust the form of training to the respective needs.
SmartReha is technologically up to date:
- Up to 16 ergometers at a time can be connected to the PC via USB. The use of chip card readers simplifies patient management. Depending on the number of connected training stations monitoring takes place on one or two PCs. The data is stored in a network-compatible client-server-database.
SmartReha is flexible:
- SmartReha supports ergometers by different manufacturers (with or without integrated ECG/blood pressure measurement) and also analyses existing ergometers through an ECG amplifier and chip card reader where applicable.
Training options
SmartReha enables every patient to determine their individual training definition, which allows for a choice from a large variety of different forms of training. Training profiles are stored in the database and are loaded automatically at the start of every training session. Forms of training are distinguished between
- load-controlled forms of training
The load of the bicycle ergometer is set to predetermined figures defined in the training profile of the respective patient. During the training, heart rate and blood pressure are constantly monitored for greater safety of the patient. - pulse-controlled forms of training
The load of the bicycle ergometer is adjusted according to specific criteria, such that the heart rate of the patient reaches a predetermined value.
All forms of training consist of 5 different stages:
- the warm-up phase, which accustoms the working musculature to the motion cycle.
- the load increase phase, which adequately brings the circulatory system of the patient into the control range.
- the actual training phase, which trains the cardiovascular system.
- the recovery phase, which slowly returns the circulatory system to resting state.
- the resting phase, during which the patient can be monitored without movement and load.
Determination of the heart rate should preferably take place through an ECG or alternatively, by using a cardio belt and directly entering the values into the ergometer.
